ABOUT THE INSTITUTION

St.Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering is located at the lap of the Western Ghats at Chunkankadai in Kanyakumari District of Tamilnadu, overlooking the Nagercoil-Thiruvananthapuram National Highway (NH47). Lush green paddy fields and plantain farms spread their arms around and the breeze caresses it. The college has six undergraduate and twelve post graduate programs, besides three university recognized research departments. All the programs are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and all the U.G programs have permanent affiliation of the Anna University. The college has all the requisite infrastructural facilities as per the stipulation of the Government to impact technical education of high standards. All the departments have modernized and well equipped laboratories. Competent well qualified and dedicated persons are the staff, who inspire the students and mold them into efficient and well trained engineering professional

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1998 with an intake of 40 in B.E program in ECE and the student strength was enhanced subsequently. In the year 2000 the intake was increased to 60 and in the year 2007 the intake was further increased to 120. A total of 14 batches have graduated from the department. The department also runs PG programs like M.E-Applied Electronics & M.E-Communication Systems with an intake of 24 students and ME-Medical Electronics with an intake of 18 students. The department was recognized as a research center by Anna University, Chennai in the year 2011. The department has highly qualified and competent faculty, good infrastructural facilities and is equipped with full-fledged laboratories. The students of our department are actively participating in National and International level student paper contest being organized by various engineering Colleges. As a apart of the curriculum, visits are arranged for B.E students. Many of our students are members of professional associations like IEEE, IET, ACM, IETE and ISTE and they actively participate in various technical activities

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

The key objective of the conference is to promote research and development activities in the field of Electronics and Communication Systems. This episode sets a platform to explore the talents of emerging technocrats to advance their knowledge on recent trends in this field. ECRECT’16 comprises various technical and literary events which fortify the competence and skills of the individuals. It spotlights on bringing up together researchers, academicians, industrialists and practitioners across the nation to explore the technological advances in the design and development of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
